Val’s son was a victim of knife crime in Birmingham almost two decades ago. He tragically lost his life, and his two killers were given prison sentences, (they are now both out of prison, having been released early).
Dave’s best friend was shot,and murdered by a mother and her son who are currently both serving life sentences for the crime.
Helen’s son was murdered by an acquaintance in his own flat. The killer was jailed for life, and is still in prison.
